Brenda White
About Brenda
Brenda has been working for Westcountry SEN for many years now and is very popular with both her students and their parents.
From an early age, Brenda has been surrounded by children of all ages. Her mother was a childminder so her house has been full of children as far back as she can remember. Through her many years as a dance teacher and love for theatre, Brenda has worked with groups of children of all ages and from all backgrounds. She led the youth drama group for many years before she took a back seat to concentrate on bringing up her own children. We all believe it is this lifetime of being surrounded by children that enables Brenda to instantly put any child at ease.
As well as the continual in-house training within Westcountry SEN, Brenda trained with the British Dyslexia Society and found her passion was teaching Mathematics and Literacy.
Here is what a few of our recent parents have said about Brenda
“We are delighted with his progress over the last few months. His ability to add up money and talk through numbers he sees has improved significantly. Brenda demonstrates great patience and understanding throughout each lesson”.
Mr Gittoes, Mere
“My daughter thoroughly enjoys her maths lessons with Brenda and looks forward to her twice-weekly sessions.
She is progressing well with her work whilst finding Brenda great company. What more could you wish from a tutor”!
Mrs Hawthorne, Shaftesbury
“Brenda is very knowledgeable, she is very kind and patient. Brenda is able to adapt things that aren’t working to meet my daughter’s needs! Brenda has transformed my daughter’s confidence and self-belief and for the first time ever my daughter is meeting targets but more importantly she is beginning to love school again! I cannot recommend highly enough”.
Mrs Selby, Sturminster Newton
“Brenda has been fantastic for my son – she has a wonderful way of working with him, which gets the best out of him. He is always excited to come to his tutor sessions and we have seen some great improvements not only in his schoolwork but across his whole life! Thank you Brenda for helping to give him back the confidence to believe in himself, it is wonderful to see him enjoying learning again”!
