Dyscalculia

Dyscalculia is a developmental learning disorder; it is a difficulty with numbers and some of the earlier mathematical concepts. Dyscalculia often occurs with children who have dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD/ADD however it is important to recognise that it is a developmental disorder in its own right and should not be confused with dyslexia.

Children who have this condition struggle with numbers more so than children of the same age They also may have sequencing difficulties, and cannot develop the same as their peers, over time this maths ability gap can grow and grow unless specialist supportive interventions are started.

Our Dyscalculia tutors support students by using prime tools and interventions aimed to foster the mathematical foundations that children need to develop mathematical skills.
